Administration of care is changing as evidenced by previous blog posts from my colleagues. Many of these changes are not only coming from new therapeutic products, but from the actual coordination of care and the choices of therapy. Physicians are now able to make decisions with the full backing of evidence-based medicine. These decisions are beginning to bring to light new paradigm shifts, particularly in cancer care, where the introduction of palliative therapy and hospice are becoming more prevalent. To investigate how some of these shifts are occurring, I recently chatted with Ed Rodgers, Pathways Subject Matter Expert at Via Oncology which offers a decision support tool that is impacting the patient care paradigm.
