Harry Glorikian Moderates "An End-User's Perspective" at MassBIO Annual Meeting on Personalized Medicine
Topic
An End-User's PerspectiveThe healthcare industry is driving full speed toward a new model of care-giving. The patient community, however, increasingly seems to occupy the driver's seat. The era of patient-centric drug development and healthcare delivery is fast approaching. Hear from two perspectives, Patients Like Me, a web community for patients to share their experiences, and SERMO, an online forum for physicians to share medical insights. As founders of these two end-user communities, hear how they view patient-centric and physician-centric views, toward personalized healthcare.
This moderated discussion will tackle questions like: What does this shift in the 'point of focus' mean for the healthcare industry? Will consumers start to define the terms for research and development, i.e. will their input drive choice of targets, pathways, patient cohorts? What kind of role will a physician be expected to play in such a system? And, in this era of social media, how will research and development be affected?
